The latest update on The Kids Clubhouse

Once I started the Pop Up site for The Kids Clubhouse, I neglected posting on the blog.  Getting the Pop Up up and running for kids was a top priority.  I was hoping once it was running smoothly, I could focus on the #1 priority...opening The Kids Clubhouse actual location.  Fast forward 4 months later and where are we now in this project??  Well, there's a lot to tell.  Here's my condensed version of what's going on with The Kids Clubhouse.

As you know, our space at The River @ Rancho Mirage was set and ready to go for our build out.     8,000 sq ft of big, beautiful space on the 2nd floor of The River.  We were waiting (and waiting and waiting!) to get the green light from the Rancho Mirage City Planner.  After almost 3 months of wondering what was going on with the build out approval, my architect delivered the worst news he could give me.  The City of Rancho Mirage could NOT approve the build out! What!?!?  Yes, unfortunately our original plans for a 2nd floor Indoor Playland would never be able to come to fruition due to location, retrofitting of the ENTIRE building, seismic evaluations, etc.   I was devastated thinking I would not be able to go on with this project.  I thought of all of the kids I've met so far having a great time just in the Pop Up.  That was my encouragement to pick up and keep moving on!  So I was on a mission to look for another location.  I looked at several spaces throughout the valley that would suit the needs of The Kids Clubhouse and in the end...I chose to stay at The River.

We (my husband and I) are finalizing our new space with The River ownership.  You may know the space as the old Ulta or more recently, where Parkwil Manor hosts its Haunted house.  The space is going to be even better and bigger than our original plans/design.  10,000 sq ft of big, open space.  So that means more active play areas, a larger Mini Town and an awesome Gamers Lounge.  The estimated opening date will (hopefully) be 60 days once build out starts...ETA end of February to mid March.   I'm hoping and praying everything goes smoothly from here on out.

I will be more diligent in keeping up with the progress on this blog.  Thank you to everyone for patiently waiting and supporting us while we work towards the completion of The Kids Clubhouse. Love to you all <3

Build Out Update

Hello all! This is my latest update on what's going on with The Kids Clubhouse.  If you haven't seen my latest video post on can check it out here ->
Facebook Update Video

Today, I spent a few hours in the space trying to clean and organize before the build out begins.  I've received the first proposal from my general contractor and now I'm waiting for the second contractor proposal to come in.  As soon as I get the 2nd proposal, we (my husband and I) will make the decision on who to hire and then get started!! This is such an exciting time because I can finally see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.  So if everything keeps going as planned, we will start construction for the build out in 2-3 weeks.  Construction time is estimated at 10-12 weeks...granted nothing goes wrong during construction (crossing my fingers!).

There are quite a few things to get done before TKC can open to the public. Besides the bathroom build, the play structures n…

Latest Updates for The Kids Clubhouse

Welcome back to The Kids Clubhouse blog page!  I apologize that it has taken such a long time to write this blog post but in all honesty, life and business has been incredibly hectic and crazy...trying to update all the social media pages, running the Pop Up location and closing it down, overseeing the build-out of the permanent location and the most important job of all...taking care of my family.  So now I am going to sit down and try to answer questions that many, many customers have been asking.  Here are the most Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:  When will the permanent location be open? A:  As of today, 7/11/19, we are still waiting for our plans to be approved and obtain permits from the City of Rancho Mirage.  It has been approximately 4 months since we moved into the permanent space (Suite A174). My architect and contractor have been working tirelessly to move things along.  But like any business venture, there is tons of red tape to get through.   I don't think many know how…
